About Me – Why I Rejoice!

“Rejoicing in the Lord must be your strength!”  Neh. 8: 10

I am a member of the Sisters of St. Francis Congregation of  Our Lady of Lourdes. My community is and has been a great blessing for me.  God is my life and my all and with great joy I desire to share Him.

Life,  as a Franciscan, has led me to be a woman of prayer, a professional woman who taught, directed Religious Education, directed a retreat center, gave retreats and was active as a Spiritual Director.  I have been a Certified Chaplain working in health care for 20 years.  Recently, I worked as a team member of our Franciscan Spirituality Center and gave presentations to the Sisters and public at large.

For many years, I did prayer journaling and received many prayers, poetry and prose.  I have been encouraged to publish them.  Franciscan Flowers, my blog, will enable me to share these gifts.

Your visits are welcome.  I encourage you to share and I look forward to your comments.

  1. Dear LaDonna,

How beautiful….will use this sight for my own meditation.

    Peace for now
    Rachel

    • Thanks Rachel,
Yes, God has gifted me with these prose and poems. When I reread them, they also are reflections for me. I am grateful to God that He has given me these inspirations. God bless you. La Donna

  2. So much gratitude to you for a generous and loving site! As I work to better understand my own relationship to Catholicism, it is a splendid gift to hear about yours. Much light and love to you in the new year!

  3. Pax et Bonum!

  4. Peace and Blessings on this new year, thanks for sharing your poetry, and the stirrings of the Spirit!

  5. I have nominated you for the Versatile bloggers award! http://versatilebloggeraward.wordpress.com/
You don’t have to accept but should you choose to this is what you need to do.
-Thank the person who gave you this award. That’s common courtesy.
Include a link to their blog. That’s also common courtesy — if you can figure out how to do it.
    – Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly. ( I would
add, pick blogs or bloggers that are excellent!)
    – Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award
    – Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

    Good Luck! God bless!
